MEET OUR Facilitators & Staff

Our facilitators, camp organizers/managers, and volunteers are passionate about music and excited to see you at Jam Camp! More details about our 2026 facilitators and staff are coming soon!

Anna Baignoche

Anna B. is a bit of a Jam Camp Legend. No one yet has been lucky enough to boast an entire Jam Camp Theme inspired by themselves, except for her. For years we wondered if anyone really even liked Jam Camp, or if they were just coming to see Anna? Known for her energetic song and dance, flamboyant musical theatre scripts, outrageous theme characters, and trusty megaphone, Anna is a Jam Camp Treasure who will be gracing us with her presence at Jam Camp on the River this summer- whoop whoop!

Stefan Bienz

Stefan Bienz (aka JC Soulshine, aka SewageSmell Maybel, aka Ritzy Glitzy Spider) will be rocking the low end at Jam Camp on the River as a Facilitator this summer! Stefan is one of the most generous, humble, and happy go lucky superstars you will ever meet, and we can guarantee you- when Stefan and his bass are in the mix- the sound is going.to.be.FIRE!

Bobby Bovenzi

One, two, come back in!! Master Rhythm Circle Facilitator, Bobby Bovenzi, will be Facilitating at 3(!!) Jam Camps this summer: Jam Camp de l'Outaouais, Jam Camp on the Island, & Jam Camp on the River, bringing his high energy and contagious joy of rhythm to all! In addition to leading drum circles, teaching West African rhythms, dance, and song; Bobby is one of the 6 original founders of Jam Camp, and we owe him much gratitude for being a key factor in establishing the Jam Camp Community vibe!

Viola Cerullo

Viola and her crew are Jam Camp Lifers who are always certain to add a whole lot of fun, sparkle, and excitement to the JC atmosphere! From musical theatre to dance routines to hilarious open mic acts to beautifully written original Jam Camp songs, Viola has moved effortlessly from Participant to Volunteer to this summer Facilitating at Jam Camp on the River!

Angus Clark

Jam Camp welcomes back super star volunteer, Angus Clark, this summer as a Facilitator at Jam Camp on the River! You may remember Angus for his beautiful voice, sweet guitar licks and song writing skills, or just the fact that he was always the first one to jump up to volunteer when help was needed! Come join in on a jam with Angus at the river this summer!

Leh Deuling

Jam Camp is thrilled to have long-time Jam Camper, Leh Deuling, back as a Fa-silly-tator this summer! Leh was born and raised in the boonies near Mabel Lake BC where Jam Camp first took place. Coming from a musical family and in the bosom of Jam Camp, Leh quickly picked up djembe, then kit drum, then guitar, then banjo- and the list goes on! Come sing and jam with Leh this summer at Jam Camp de l’Outaouais!

Jacynthe Guimond

Jam Camp is thrilled to have longtime Jam Camp Fam, Jacythne Guimond, back on staff this summer! You can be sure to have a stompin’ good time when Jacynthe brings her traditional dance calling to the mix! Jacynthe will be bringing the joy and fun to Jam Camp de l’Outaouais this summer!

Darcie Johnson

Darcie Johnson will be Manager at Jam Camp on the River this summer, keeping things running smoothly with her energetic presence and contagious smile! There’s nothing this gal can’t do: join her for morning yoga, or catch her for a wee jam, singalong, or dance party. Let’s make sure she gets to do more than just admin work at Jam Camp this summer!!

Michelle Footz

Jam Camp Society welcomes Michelle Footz to her first Jam Camp this summer! Michelle is a well established, multi-instrumentalist from BC’s West Coast, and rumor has it (ok it was a mutual friend/JC Alumni/Balkan Shmalkan bandmate) that she is going to be a PERFECT fit!!! Come meet Michelle, aka Shelder the Electric Clamfish, at Jam Camp in the Mountains this summer!

Colin Hamilton

Colin is one of the Organizers and Managers at Jam Camp on the Island! Along with his wife Wendi, Colin has been an instrumental(pun intended) figure in bringing Jam Camp back to BC’s Coast after a long hiatus. We are stoked to have Colin & Wendi as part of our admin crew, and even more stoked to get a chance to spend a beautiful week in nature with them and their very musically talented family!

Kansas-lee Hatherly

Kansas-lee is well known in the Okanagan Valley and beyond for her beautiful singing voice and impressive song writing skills. If you happen to be in a Song Writing Group with Kansas at Jam Camp, you are in for a treat! We are privileged to be having this song bird joining us at two camps this summer: Jam Camp in the Mountains AND Jam Camp on the River!

Leo D.E Johnson

The one and only, Leo D.E Johnson, will be coming to you LIVE at Jam Camp in the Mountains this summer!!! If you have not yet had the pleasure of jammin/chillin with Leo at a Jam Camp, you need to seriously reprioritize your life, and sign up now!  Leo will bring the rock to your roll, the may to your ham, and the liven’ to your easy.

Éric Lafontaine

Jam Camp Society is pleased to announce a new collaboration with Éric Lafontaine, founder and owner of Tam Tam Mania, QC. A lifelong student of rhythm, a teacher of djembe and dunun, and a lover of music, Éric will be joining us as a facilitator at Jam Camp de l’Outaouais this summer, sharing his passion for percussion, laughter, and life. Come join the jam with Éric!

Robin Layne

Imagine unzipping your tent to the fresh morning dew, with the early morning sun’s warm rays shining through the trees into your campsite- beckoning you out into the grassy field where sleepy senior Jam Campers are doing their yoga and making their first cup of coffee, and lively earlybird Jam Campers are frolicking through the field with their friends, climbing trees, and excitedly waiting for the day to start. If Robin happens to be at this camp, you will undoubtedly hear the soft soundtrack of looping Marimba melodies serenading throughout the camp. Every morning, noon, and night. Robin and his Marimbas will be joining us at Jam Camp on the Island this summer, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Taeven Lopatecki

Taeven has been coming to Jam Camp since she was a wee seedling. It has been a joy for the Jam Camp Fam to witness her growth: from climbing trees- to saving trees; from JC Participant- to JC Volunteer- to JC Facilitator this summer at Jam Camp on the Island!!

Wendi Lopatecki

Having Wendi and her creative family at Jam Camp is always a treat. Wendi, alongside her husband Colin, is organizer and manager of Jam Camp on the Island. Wendi’s sunny disposition, beautiful voice and musicianship, and calming presence are such a blessed addition to the Jam Camp vibe. Thank you Wendi for helping to bring Jam Camp back to the Coast for another year!

Aidan Mayes

It's been centuries foretold that the Jam Camp Galaxy (aka HD85512) and an enchanted songstress would just nearly miss each other- year after year- until finally: the time would come: the stars would aligned, and low and behold, a Jam Camp miracle would take place! You heard it here first, people: come to Jam Camp on the River this summer to meet Aidan Mayes!

J. Ben McGrath (he/him)

When Ben McGrath is playing around the campfire with you, you can depend on his subtle and smooth rhythms to carry the pulse of the jam! Along with giving lessons on the kit drum, snare, or buckets, Ben is an incredibly talented accompanist with a great ear for improvisation and jamming. He will be joining us at Jam Camp on the Island, and we couldn’t be more excited to spend the week with him!

Bela Ord

Bela Ord is a longtime Jam Camper turned Facilitator, whose smooth style jazz, enthusiasm to experiment and jam, and quirky humor (hello chickengiraffeunicorncow) brings joy to every Jam Camp he attends. This summer, Bela will be joining us at Jam Camp on the River and available for lessons on piano, melodica, and guitar- woohoooo!

Noah Ord

Noah Ord has been part of the Jam Camp Family for over a decade- progressing from Participant to Facilitator in the last few years. Noah will be attending Jam Camp on the Island this summer, and we couldn’t feel more fortunate! His welcoming smile and gentle guidance helps the newest musicians at Jam Camp feel confident and included, while his expertise on the fiddle, ukulele, trumpet, spoons(!!) are the perfect match for long time musicians who want to collaborate, experiment, and jam in exponential ways!

Ricardo

Ricardo is relatively new to the Jam Camp Fam- but he has taken us by storm! (Quite literally, if you were at the campfire singalong night at JCR25) Singer songwriter, multi instrumentalist, and dynamic choir director Ricardo will join us at Jam Camp in the Mountains AND Jam Camp on the River this summer!

Sarah Senecal

Sarah Senecal has been a key player in the Jam Camp Fam for many summers. She'll be the only jammer around the campfire who brought a song book with chords, can always be depended on to add a great harmony, and never runs out of costumes to share. She's refreshing like a dip in the Shuswap in June, comforting like a mosquito tent in July, and reliable like a wasp trap in August. We are super blessed to have her at Jam Camp on the River this summer!!

Mariela Shuley

Mariela Shuley first arrived at Jam Camp the summer of 2005 when she was just a wee lil songbird, and has been coming back to Jam Camp ever since! She has progressed from Participant, to Musical Volunteer, to Facilitator, to Admin Support, Social Media Guru, Volunteer Sound Technician, Grant Writer, etc etc etc!!! Mariela, aka “The Heart of Jam Camp” will be Facilitating at Jam Camp on the River this summer, lucky us!

Owen Thomas

Owen Thomas has been around since the Birth of Jam Camp. He is our most super star Musical Volunteer, a beautiful steady voice in the song circle, and a great addition to your next open mic number. You can always count on Owen to hold down a harmony part with you, or hook you up with the world's best hug to start out your Jam Camp morning. Owen will be joining us at Jam Camp on the Island AND Jam Camp on the River this summer, make sure to hit him up for a music lesson or singing under the stars session.

Sam Tudor

Jam Camp Society welcomes Sam Tudor to his first Jam Camp ever this summer!! Sam has a wealth of experience to share in songwriting and creating music, and also a lot of experience doing kids camps = put them together, and there’s sure to be magic! Come meet Sam at Jam Camp in the Mountains this summer!

Amelia Tumbach

(aka “MEMA”)

Amelia Tumbach’s claim to fame is that she attended the first ever Jam Camp in 2003 before she was 1 year old, and has continued to attend Jam Camp every year after that! She is the OG JC’er, has progressed to assisting admin in the organizing and running of Jam Camp, and is being groomed to one day take over the world!! (of Jam Camp, that is) Mema will be the Assistant Manager at Jam Camp on the River this summer!

Thomas Tumbach

Jam Camp is essentially the brainchild of Thomas Tumbach. Freshly reacquainted with his violin after a decade, combined with his new love for jamming with friends; when Thomas was asked to give violin lessons to a group of family friends over 20 years ago while they were camping, he said: “Yes, lets! And…. let's also invite a bunch of friends and camp together in a beautiful place and everyone can share all sorts of music together!!!” Thomas is one of the 6 original founders of Jamp, and will be a Musical Volunteer at Jam Camp on the River this summer!
