Cari Burdett is a mother of three, voice mentor, ceremonialist, singer, and educator with over 30 years of experience working at the intersection of music, healing, nature connection, and community. With advanced training in Opera from McGill University, Montreal, and a Master's in Performance Voice from the Royal Academy of Music, London UK, and extensive experience training in improvisational voice, and therapeutic singing.
Cari leads workshops, choirs, and mentoring through the Lila Music and Nature Centre, where she lives beside the Quw’utsun River, stewarding land and farm in a spirit of reciprocity with the earth and deep respect for the First Peoples whose lands she lives upon. For over 18 years, she has built relationships with local Elders and collaborated on projects with youth and community that weave together land, arts, music, nature, and reconciliation.
Cari’s work includes hospice bedside singing, grief and ceremony facilitation, nature-based mentoring, and large-scale community music gatherings. She is passionate about helping people rediscover their authentic voice, creativity, and belonging — to themselves, each other, and the living world.
Cari enjoys teaching 1:1 Voice Sessions online and in person, leading groups, workshops and mentorship of bringing song into your life either through teaching, choir leading, bedside singing, ritual, ceremony, grief tending and more.
